184 Florida Health Insurance policies written in last 6 months

01/24/2010

Hello Everyone,

It’s been quite a few months since I’ve last posted… I’ve been very busy!  The health insurance market in Florida is constantly changing, and I’ve been working diligently to stay informed with the new plan changes in 2010.  I’d like to take this opportunity to give the public a glimpse into my business..  I am going to publish in detail, all companies and specific plans I have written in the past 6 months..  If you are a Florida health insurance consumer or prospective buyer, here are the most popular plans to consider buying for yourself or family.

Aetna

Most popular Aetna plans in Florida:  POS Open Access First Dollar, POS Open Access 1500, POS Open Access 2500, POS Open Access 5000, POS Open Access Value 5000, POS Open Access High Deductible 5000 HSA

Cigna

Most popular Cigna plans in Florida:  Florida Open Access 1000, Florida Open Access 2000, Florida Open Access 3000, Florida Open Access 5000, Florida HSA 5000,

CoventryOne

Most popular CoventryOne plans in Florida: Premier 1500, Premier 2500, Premier 5000, Plus 5000

Humana

Most popular Humana plans in Florida: AUTOGRAPH Share 80 Plus RX 5000 & 6000 deductible, AUTOGRAPH Total Plus Rx 2500 & 3500 deductible, PORTRAIT Share 80 Plus Rx 1000 & 2500 deductible, MONOGRAM Total Plus Rx 7500

Unitedhealthcare/Unitedhealthone/Goldenrule

Most popular plans in Florida: Copay Select, 1000, 1500, 2500, 5000, 7500, 10000 deductibles, Short Term,

Vista HMO, A CoventryOne Company

Most popular Vista plans in South Florida: Plan 10, Plan 20 , OAC15 1000, C20-2500 OAC20-2500, C30-5000, OAC30-5000, IFDZ-2500, IFDZ-5000, IFDZ-7500, IFDZ-10000

Here are the trends I am seeing:

Several insurance companies have products with high deductibles and also have unlimited co-payments for doctor visits..  The cost of healthcare has continued to rise.  Instead of increasing the new business premiums, all companies are introducing products with higher deductibles to keep new business pricing stable.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield still dominates statewide with their lower deductible plans with co-payments and with their family high deductible HSA policies.  BCBS also has a unique product nobody can compete with: Their hospital/surgical plans are very inexpensive and cover up to $5,000,000.

Cigna is new to Florida, and is competing with all companies statewide.  Prices seem to be much lower than anyone, and are taking a large part of the market share.

Humana in Palm Beach county has been a consistent price leader. Their 3500, 5000 and 6000 deductible plans with 6 co-payments for doctor visits are unique and very competitive statewide.

Vista recently introduced their new Z-Plans.  These plans are great if you live in South Florida, and are very hard to compete with.  If you live in Broward or Miami Dade, this might be the best product.  The deductible is for hospitalization only, everything else is a co-payment.  Vista finally got their act together, and pricing is more competitive than anyone.

I know all the above information is overwhelming and most of the information could be like a foreign language… but that’s why I’m here!!  If you are feeling a bit frustrated or indecisive on what plan to choose, call me.  I can start a web-conference and explain any of the plans to you statewide.   I am available to help you find the best health insurance policy for yourself and family.  Please call me if you have any questions, 888-773-1181.

To your health,

Goldenrule, Unitedhealthone for 50+ year old woman in Broward County

06-29-2009

Hello my name is Josh Docktor.  I am an Independent Insurance Agent and owner of Docktor’s Insurance located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Last week I had a woman in her mid 50′s approved with Goldenrule/Unitedhealthone in 3 days.  This person had a Vista HMO that was increasing to over $900 monthly.  The client was interested in saving money and wanted a larger network of doctors to choose from.  This case was unique because although this client is healthy, she has not been in for a checkup in the last 2 years.  Most insurance companies require checkups in the last 2 years to get covered, however Goldenrule/ Unitedhealthone does not.  If you are healthy with no major medical conditions, you may want to consider Goldenrule/ Unitedhealthone as your next insurance company.  Not only do they have the most efficient underwriting, they have the largest network of doctors and hospitals in the USA.

Goldenrule is very competitively priced in Broward County, FL and is a top seller.  The most popular plan in Florida is the Copay Select.  Most people prefer the plan that pay 100% after the deductible, however if you are on a budget, you can opt for a $1,000 – $10,000 deductible with 70/30 or 80/20 co-insurance.   All plans have unlimited co-payments for doctor visits, where the deductible is waived.

If you have questions or are interested in quotes from Goldenrule/Unitedhealthone, please call Josh Docktor at 1-888-773-1181

Goldenrule, UnitedHealthOne policy for young woman

3-13-2009

Hello my name is Josh Docktor.  I am an Independent Insurance Agent and owner of Docktor’s Insurance located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Today I helped a young woman apply for Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne PPO policy.  Palm Beach County has several competitive plans, however the Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne policy has its niche.

Here was the scenario…  A young woman in her 20′s wanted a plan with unlimited co-payments for doctors, 100% coverage after the deductible has been met, and a nationwide network of doctors and hospitals.  The only company that has a competitive plan like this is Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne.

With over 500,000 participating providers, Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne is the most widely accepted plans available.  If you are anywhere in the United States, you are most likely in-network with this product.  If you want to use physicians in other states, this product will allow you to do so with paying  just a co-payment.

Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and CoventryOne have similar products in the State of Florida, however when you leave the state, you are out of network.  This means you have no co-payments, and you pay much more to see a doctor or hospital.  These products are great if you only want coverage in the State of Florida.  Outside of Florida, it’s basically for emergency use only.

After comparing the above mentioned plans, we applied for Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne’s Copay Select plan with 100% coinsurance.  Approval should be very quick, I’ve had several applications with Goldenrule, UnitedhealthOne approved in 24 hours.

If you know anyone interested in a plan with 100% co-insurance, unlimited doctor visit co-payments, and a nationwide network of hospitals and doctors , please have them call Josh Docktor at 888-773-1181.

Vista HMO for family of 3

03-05-2009

Hello my name is Josh Docktor.  I am an Independent Insurance Agent and owner of Docktor’s Insurance located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Today I had a family of 3 approved with Vista’s HMO Individual Plan.  This client contacted me and was unhappy with their current family plan.  The current plan had a $10,000 deductible per person and was renewing at $600+ monthly.   The plan did cover doctor visits, medication and checkups with a co-payment, however had a very high deductible for everything else.  The clients’ main concern was having the most comprehensive plan for the money.

The plan they decided on is Vista’s plan C30-5000.  This plan has a $5000 deductible for hospitalization only.  This plan covers unlimited doctor visits, annual checkups, medication, diagnostic testing, outpatient surgery, endoscopic procedures, urgent care centers, and emergency rooms all with a CO-PAYMENT!  Your deductible is ONLY paid if admitted to the hospital and you need to stay overnight.  Any other service that is planned at an outpatient diagnostic center or ambuatory center is a co-payment.  Most importantly, emergency rooms and urgent care centers are covered with a co-payment only!  If you are in the ER for 24 hours or less, $100 is all you pay.  Dental & vision is also included.  This client was approved with Vista in a few days, with a monthly premium about equal to his current plan, half the deductible and more comprehensive coverage.

How many times have you gone to the emergency room under your current plan, then find out that you have to pay your deductible?   Like most people, I’m sure you were not very fond of your insurance company.

Vista’s HMO service area is Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St Lucie Counties with over 6,000 providers.  If you know anyone interested in a plan with a hospital only deductible, please have them call Josh Docktor at 888-773-1181.

Aetna POS OA family plan approved

03-04-2009

Hello my name is Josh Docktor.  I am a top producing Independent Insurance Agent and owner of Docktor’s Insurance located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Today I had a family approved with Aetna’s POS Open Access plan.  The approval process took 7 days, very fast for Aetna.  This family was on COBRA paying in excess of $1000 monthly.  The client’s main concerns were to get the least expensive family plan with unlimited doctor visit co-payments, a plan that would cover all medications taken by family members without any exclusions, and something that has a nationwide network.  Being in the business for years, I knew exactly what to recommend.

In the Broward County Fort Lauderdale area, Aetna has it’s niche.  For families of 4 or more, Aetna is amazing.  Pricing is the same if you have 2 children or 10.  Pretty neat, right??  On top of that, if you have not lapsed coverage for more than 63 days and are approvable, Aetna covers all pre-existing conditions, including medication.  Aetna also has one of the largest nationwide networks of hospitals and physicians behind Unitedhealthcare.

With that all being said, the total monthly premium is $526 monthly, saving well over $450 monthly compared to their COBRA coverage.

The great thing about Aetna is pricing is the same if you live in Broward County Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or Palm Beach County.  If you know anyone that might be interested in getting a family plan quote, please call Josh Docktor at 1-888-773-1181 .

Goldenrule, UnitedHealthOne HIPPA policy

03-03-2009

Today I helped a woman in her late 30′s apply for a HIPPA policy.  She was a referral from an insurance company I work with.  We inititally applied with Aetna’s POS Open Access plan but were declined due to several medical conditions.  This individual was on COBRA but needed to get a new policy because COBRA was expiring in 60 days.  She was very nervous that once her COBRA policy terminates, she would no longer be able to have comprehensive medical insurance.  I knew exactly what to do since I’ve had several clients in this situation before.  If you have been insured continuously under COBRA for 18 months, and can not get approved with any individual insurance company, the HIPPA law in Florida makes an insurance company guarantee issue a policy.  Proof of continous coverge is required from your past insurance company to proceed.  If you have this documentation, Goldenrule, UnitedHealthOne has the policy for you.  It’s called plan 100.  This policy has a 2500 deductible then pays 100% of the remaining costs up to the policy max of $3 million or $5 million.  Today this application was submitted based on my past positive experience with Goldenrule, UnitedHealthOne.  I will update this upon approval.  If you know anyone that might be in this situation, call me for a quote.  Josh Docktor, 1-888-773-1181.
